We all may have spent a little too much time behind a fork and knife this winter. I mean why not, tis the season right? Now it’s time to get back to it and melt off those holiday pounds with some fat-burning, powder-shredding Nordic Skiing. Here are a few areas where Nordic skiing can help you get back summer shape even during the winter:
Cardiovascular Workout: Nordic skiing is famed for being a total body workout, so your lungs are working to get the air needed to help your heart pump blood to all of those active muscles.
Calorie Burn: With so many muscles working simultaneously, those calories will melt away like a snowman on the first day of spring.
Core and Abs: Working your abs, lower back and pelvis, Nordic skiing activates and tightens your entire core while you glide through the Bridger-Teton Wilderness.
Balance: Described as a use-it-or-lose-it skill, Nordic skiing encourages excellent balance and requires coordination that tests your inner equilibrium while improving your balance both on and off the skis.
But Nordic skiing isn’t just a great workout for you, it’s also a great way to get your four-legged friends outdoors. If your dogs are snow-lovers like ours then they’ll love coming along for a ski out on the trails. With 20 km of groomed trails set right to our cabins, your dogs will have as good of a time as you do out on the snow. Turpin Meadow Ranch is dog-friendly, and you’re welcome to bring up to two furry friends to stay with you.
