Do I need special clothing to snowmobile?
You may bring special clothing if you would like, but we provide snowmobile suits, helmets, boots, and gloves.

Who is allowed to drive a snow mobile?
For safety purposes, we suggest a person be 13 years old to operate a snowmobile.

Can I ride a snowmobile without a guide?
Yes. Many guests bring their own snowmobiles, but we have 1-person and 2-person (4-stroke) snowmobiles available.

Do I need a vehicle at the ranch?
Many guests enjoy taking day trips to the many beautiful and exciting locations surrounding the ranch, so having a car is a real asset. We will pick you up and drop you off at the airport for a small fee, but cannot provide transportation for personal day trips.

Will there be a television in my room?
There are no TVs in the rooms, but a large TV is available in the lodge.

Will my cellular phone work?
Turpin Meadow Ranch is designed to be a getaway. Because of our remote location, most cell phones do not get reception.

What if I am on a special diet?
Some guests may have specific dietary requests, such as being a vegetarian or having medical restrictions. We aim to accommodate all our guests, but advance notification of special concerns is requested.

What kind of clothing will I be comfortable in?
The weather out here tends to be comfortable during the day, but chilly in the evening. Snow probable from October to April. It’s recommended that you always have a hat, warm footwear, and warm clothing.

Do I need to wear boots to horseback ride?
No. All we ask is that your footwear allows you to slide your feet out of the stirrups easily. Hiking boots with big soles are not recommended.

When are the horses available to ride?
The horses at Turpin Meadow Ranch ride six days a week, from Monday to Saturday. Sunday is our horses’ day to rest!

May my child ride a horse with me?
No, riding with more than one person on a horse limits the control of the rider. However, children ages six and up usually demonstrate that they can handle a horse for a trail ride or other activities. Children under six can ride a horse within the safety of our corral.

What activities are available for my children?
The goal of Turpin Meadow Ranch is to develop into a family guest ranch. There are activities planned for children when families come, but it will be easier for us to accommodate your needs if we know in advance the number and ages of your children.

What is the cost for a ride to Yellowstone National Park?
A trip to Yellowstone that includes an expert Tour Guide and transportation to and from the park costs $60 per adult and $45 per child (ages 4-12). During the Prime season this is included in the package price.

Do I need to bring my own gear for fly fishing?
Many guests prefer to use their own equipment. However, we do have good quality rods, wheels, waders, etc., since shipping bulky waders and other gear can be expensive.

Can I take a float/raft trip while I am at the Ranch?
We don’t offer those kinds of trips here, but we will be happy to make your reservations for either a white-water rafting trip or a scenic ride. During Prime season the cost of a float trip or white-water raft trip is included in the package price, however, reservations must be made prior to your arrival at the ranch.
